Noida International Airport is gearing up to start commercial operations by April next year, with a crucial aerodrome license application set for submission this December following validation flights.

According to Christoph Schnellmann, the airport's CEO, there is substantial interest from both domestic and international carriers. Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is spearheading the project, which saw its foundation stone laid in November 2021.

Validation flights are scheduled for later this year, conducted by the Airports Authority of India. Upon successful completion, the operator will apply for the aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Meanwhile, construction progress and collaborations with airlines like IndiGo and Akasa Air continue, aiming to handle 70 million passengers annually once fully operational.
