Homegrown FMCG major Emami has announced a stabilization in its operations in Bangladesh, following a period of political turmoil that affected business activities.
During the Annual General Meeting, Emami CFO Naresh Bhansali addressed shareholder queries, stating that the disruption had led to a turbulent month. However, with factory activities resuming and the market reopening, operations are stabilizing. Bhansali expressed optimism that business will normalize soon without significant impacts on the overall company performance.
Emami Bangladesh, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emami Ltd, contributes to the production and sale of cosmetics and ayurvedic medicines. Established in 2004, it logged Rs 174.23 crore in revenue for the financial year ending March 31, 2024. Emami also reported that despite earlier disruptions in Sri Lanka due to currency devaluation, business is now on a growth trajectory.
