Flight services at Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport were disrupted for about three hours after air traffic control (ATC) spotted three unidentified objects resembling drones in airspace, officials announced on Wednesday.
All scheduled flight operations were halted during this period, as stated by Sandeep Aggarwal, the officiating Director of the airport. The incident began at 10:10 PM on Monday and led to a suspension of services until 12:45 AM. Operations resumed only after the ATC tower gave clearance.
Aggarwal emphasized that airport authorities immediately informed the local police, but a comprehensive investigation has yet to determine the nature and origin of these objects. The local Air Force station joined the search, conducted with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), but no conclusive evidence has been found. With the airport's proximity to the Indo-Pak border, the incident has raised serious concerns.
