A group of 51 people from Maharashtra is set to return from Nepal on Saturday evening after a devastating bus accident claimed 27 lives, including 25 passengers, the driver, and the cleaner. This incident has left many in mourning and shock.

The district administration has arranged food and other necessities for the returning passengers at the border. They will then be escorted to Gorakhpur under police protection and the supervision of the additional district magistrate.

The accident occurred in Nepal's Chitawan district when the bus carrying 43 passengers veered off the highway and plunged into the fast-flowing Marsyangdi river. Immediate casualties included 16 deaths on the spot, while 11 succumbed to injuries later. The covered arrangements span hearses, ambulances, and a medical team to manage the aftermath effectively.
