In a bid to assess safety conditions in coal companies, Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, reviewed the progress of the National Coal Mines Safety Report Portal on Friday. The Chairman of Coal India Limited (CIL), CMDs of its subsidiaries, and senior ministry officials were also present.

The Ministry of Coal emphasized the necessity of comprehensive safety audits across all mines. Meena reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to achieving 'Zero Accident, Fail-Proof Safety.' During the review, the CIL Chairman showcased the portal's two main modules: the Accident Module and the Safety Audit Module, designed to enhance safety management via near-real-time accident reporting and improved auditing processes.

With the numerous hazards inherent in coal mining, strict safety protocols are vital. Coal companies are focused on implementing a solid safety policy aligned with their vision and mission. The National Coal Mines Safety Report Portal is a significant leap forward, with its Accident Module enabling prompt accident management and the Safety Audit Module bolstering safety practice audits.

This advanced module integration tackles critical safety challenges and sets new benchmarks for safety management. The Ministry and coal PSUs are committed to fostering a 'Culture of Mine Safety,' identifying and mitigating potential hazards through thorough risk assessments.

Adopting innovative technologies and policies, the Ministry aims to enhance safety, productivity, and employee well-being in the coal mining sector under the Minister of Coal's guidance. (ANI)
