A post-mortem for the 27 Indian pilgrims who perished in a tragic bus accident in Nepal is taking place in a hospital in Bagmati province, preparing for their transport back to Maharashtra.
The victims, all from Maharashtra, were on a 10-day tour in Nepal when their bus veered off the highway, plunging into the Marsyangdi River in central Nepal. Sixteen others were injured in the accident.
The Indian Air Force will airlift the bodies to Nashik. The bus was traveling from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh to Kathmandu, and fell 150 meters down a hilly road at the accident site, located around 90 km west of Kathmandu.
