In a significant upgrade, Air India has rolled out 'Vista', its new wireless inflight entertainment service, for current wide body aircraft pending a complete retrofit.
This move comes as the Tata Group-owned airline addresses passenger complaints about malfunctioning inflight entertainment systems. The new service will also be introduced to narrow body planes but won't be available on newly-inducted B777 and A350 aircraft, according to a recent release.
Vista aims to offer uninterrupted entertainment, including streaming on personal electronic devices and a live flight tracking map, ensuring a more enjoyable flight experience. Air India currently operates a fleet of 140 aircraft, and the new wide-body planes feature an upgraded inflight entertainment system.
