India & Africa Strengthen Economic Ties at CII Business Conclave

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, underscored the deep bonds and advancing partnership between India and Africa at the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi. He noted the strengthening friendship and expanding cooperation between the two regions.
Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Goyal stated India's engagement with Africa is guided by ten principles, with Africa topping the priority list. He cited initiatives such as including the African Union in the G20 and addressing shared concerns at multilateral forums like the WTO.
Goyal spoke about India's efforts to support Africa through lines of credit, emphasizing a bright future for bilateral relations. He also emphasized the importance of boosting investments and trade, proposing to double trade to $200 billion in the next seven years and highlighting opportunities in sectors like technology and critical minerals.
Malawi's Minister of Trade and Industry, Sosten Gwengwe, and Angola's Minister of Industry & Commerce, Rui Miguens de Oliveira, also highlighted the significance of India as a trade partner, emphasizing the growing economic ties and opportunities for mutual growth.
