Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged state governments to develop clear policies, ensure good governance, and maintain law and order to attract global investments, as major international companies are eager to invest in India.

In his address to the nation on the 78th Independence Day, Modi outlined his vision to transform India into a global manufacturing hub by leveraging its vast resources and skilled workforce. He encouraged entrepreneurs to focus on 'Design in India, Design for the World,' creating products for both domestic and international markets.

Modi highlighted the willingness of global investors to invest in India, particularly after the elections, and called on states to adopt a competitive approach to attract these investments.

Emphasizing the importance of state-level policies, he suggested changes to align with global requirements, including the creation of land banks and assurance of governance and safety for investors. Modi insisted that state involvement is crucial as the central government alone cannot facilitate all investment efforts.
