Jagran Prakashan Reports 6.51% Decline in Q1 Net Profit
Jagran Prakashan Ltd, the publisher of Dainik Jagran, posted a 6.51% decline in net profit for Q1 FY25, earning Rs 41.03 crore. The company's revenue dropped 2.3% to Rs 444.11 crore. However, FM radio business revenues rose by 12.41% to Rs 59.60 crore.
Jagran Prakashan Ltd, the publisher of Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, reported a 6.51% decline in its consolidated net profit, totaling Rs 41.03 crore for the first quarter ending June 2024.
The company disclosed a net profit of Rs 43.89 crore during the same period last year, according to a regulatory filing.
Revenue from operations decreased by 2.3%, earning Rs 444.11 crore compared to last year's Rs 454.57 crore.
Overall expenses declined by 2.28%, amounting to Rs 409.82 crore for the June quarter of FY25.
Revenue from printing, publishing, and digital sectors fell by 8%, reaching Rs 303.54 crore. However, the FM radio business saw a 12.41% rise in revenue, hitting Rs 59.60 crore for the reporting quarter.
Total income, including other income, decreased by 1.88% year-on-year to Rs 467.23 crore.
