NEW DELHI [India], August 10: The Government of India, via the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, recently released Navina Jafa's groundbreaking book, 'Exhibiting India: Art of Heritage Walks.' Priced at 500 rupees, the book debuted at the Delhi Book Fair, Bharat Mandapam, on August 9.
Navina Jafa, hailed as the 'Gatekeeper of the Spectacular' by the Financial Times, legitimizes her pioneering efforts in heritage tourism and cultural conservation through this publication. The book is a guiding light for travelers, tour guides, travel agents, hoteliers, and other stakeholders, offering innovative methods to enhance tourism experiences.
The release, organized by the Publications Division, saw attendance from over 200 schoolchildren. Published by the Government of India, the book hosts six chapters covering concepts like 'Heritage-scapes,' and examines how India has been 'exhibited' from the 19th-century Great Exhibition to contemporary campaigns like 'Dekho Apna Desh.'
Chapters delve into heritage walks across India, exploring regions like Arunachal, Rajasthan, and Varanasi.
