Bharti Airtel Sees Over 2.5x Surge in Q1 Profit
Telecom operator Bharti Airtel reported a substantial jump in its consolidated profit to Rs 4,160 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2024, from Rs 1,612.5 crore a year earlier. The company's revenue increased by 2.8%, driven by a 10.1% rise in India revenue and growth in mobile ARPU to Rs 211.
Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has posted a meteoric rise in its consolidated profit, which soared by more than 2.5 times to Rs 4,160 crore for the first quarter ending on June 30, 2024, compared to Rs 1,612.5 crore in the same period last year.
The company's consolidated revenue from operations saw a 2.8% uptick, reaching Rs 38,506.4 crore during the reported quarter, up from Rs 37,440 crore in the previous year's corresponding period.
Notably, Bharti Airtel's India revenue experienced a 10.1% year-on-year growth, climbing to Rs 29,046 crore. The key performance metric, mobile average revenue per user (ARPU), also increased to Rs 211 from Rs 200 in the same period a year ago, indicating sustainable growth in the market.
