Jagran Lakecity University Hosts Workshop Integrating Indian Knowledge in English Literature Curriculum

Jagran Lakecity University in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, organized an enlightening two-day workshop on July 23-24, 2024, centering on the inclusion of Indian Knowledge Systems in English Literature curricula. This event was directed by MP Higher Education and hosted by the Jagran School of Languages and Social Sciences.
The workshop began with Prof Dr P.K. Biswas, Vice Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University, emphasizing the global potential and cultural heritage of Indian education. Keynote speakers included Dr Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission, who focused on NEP 2020 implementation, and P.K. Dash, Former Additional Chief Secretary, who advocated for multilingual education and cultural integration.
Further insights were provided by Prof Dr S.K. Jain and Dr Abha Pandey. Prof Jain discussed the influence of English on Indian traditions, promoting a balanced approach towards linguistic diversity. Dr Abha Pandey presented an overview of NEP 2020 and the importance of incorporating Indian Knowledge Systems in higher education. The second day featured discussions and paper presentations on themes like ancient texts in character building and Indian cultural narratives in literature.
At the closing ceremony, Ashok Kadhel, Director of MP Hindi Granth Academy, emphasized the importance of integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into literature studies. Prof Diwakar Shukla, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, extended gratitude to participants for their valuable contributions, underscoring the workshop's role in connecting India's heritage with global educational frameworks.
