Rising Cases of Speeding Luxury Cars Causing Fatal Accidents in Mumbai

In a tragic turn of events, 28-year-old Vinod Lad succumbed to his injuries after a speeding BMW hit his two-wheeler in Mumbai's Worli area. The incident occurred on July 20, as Lad, a supervisor for a Thane-based transport firm, was returning home. Despite being rushed to Nair Hospital, he passed away on Saturday.
The incident has led to the accused driver, who was driving his employer to a five-star hotel at the time, facing charges of negligent driving causing death. Earlier, he was only charged with causing grievous hurt.
This is not an isolated case. On July 9, a speeding BMC car killed one and injured another on Annie Besant Road. Another incident on July 22 saw an Audi injuring three people in Mulund. Notably, on May 19, a minor under the influence drove a Porsche and caused a fatal accident in Pune.
