Yemenia Airways Resumes Crucial Flights Amid Civil War Truce
Yemenia Airways is set to restart commercial flights from Sanaa to Egypt and India, as per an agreement between opposing factions in the Yemeni civil war. Flights to Egypt and India will resume this week after a hiatus since 2016, marking a significant milestone in the peace process.

Yemenia Airways is resuming commercial flights from Sanaa to Egypt and India, according to state news agency SABA.
Starting this week, flights to Egypt will resume on Tuesday following a canceled Sunday flight, while flights to India resume on Sunday. Return flights to Cairo will be available daily, and flights to India will operate twice weekly.
The flight resumption is part of a broader agreement between Yemen's warring factions, as announced by the U.S. envoy for Yemen last week. Flights between Sanaa and Cairo had been suspended since late 2016 due to ongoing conflict.
The Yemeni civil war began in 2014 when Houthi militants took over Sanaa, establishing control in the north, while the internationally recognized government, backed by Saudi Arabia, settled in the port city of Aden.
