Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's latest Budget announcements set a course for 'Viksit Bharat' or a developed nation by 2047, focusing on nine essential development priorities. These include productivity in agriculture, employment & skilling, inclusive human resource development, urban development, and energy security.
PwC India noted that the Union Budget 2024-25 envisions a prosperous and inclusive India by outlining a detailed roadmap. Experts like NSN Murty from Deloitte India emphasized India's effective use of digital public infrastructure but stressed the need for increased efforts towards justice and credit accessibility.
ICRA Chief Economist Aditi Nayar highlighted the positive impact of increased rural-focused schemes, while industry experts like Sudhir Mathur and Durgesh Pandey welcomed the removal of angel tax and digitisation initiatives. Overall, the Budget has been seen as a multi-faceted approach to fostering economic growth across sectors.
