A potential train accident was averted in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan after a loco pilot spotted iron rods on the track, officials said on Tuesday.

Shortly after the Asarva-Jaipur Express train left Dungarpur station on Sunday night, the loco pilot identified the hazard and promptly applied the brakes, stopping the train just before reaching the rods.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police in Dungarpur, Rajkumar Rajora, has confirmed that a case has been registered against unknown individuals, and an investigation is currently underway.
