The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully carried out a daring rescue mission, evacuating an ailing man from the motor tanker vessel MT Zeal in the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat coast, the force reported on Sunday.

Responding to a medical emergency alert on Saturday, an ICG Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) was dispatched from the Coast Guard Air Enclave in Porbandar under harsh weather conditions. According to the ICG, the high winds and heavy rainfall reduced visibility to less than 100 meters.

The man onboard, who was unconscious and experiencing numbness in his lower body along with a very low pulse, was evacuated using a rescue basket. He received interim medical relief both during the flight and upon landing at Porbandar. Once stabilized, the patient was handed over to local medical authorities for further treatment, the ICG confirmed.
