The Southern Railway has categorically denied media reports suggesting the bifurcation of the Palakkad Division, stating unequivocally that no discussions, proposals, or plans have been initiated on this matter.

Divisional Railway Manager Arun Kumar Chaturvedi labeled these bifurcation assertions, particularly regarding any transfer of the Mangaluru area to a new zone or division, as 'unfounded.'

'We wish to clarify that these reports are speculative and lack any factual basis,' Chaturvedi added. He also mentioned that recent meetings in Mangaluru, involving public representatives and railway officials, focused solely on rail development and connectivity enhancement in the region, with no discussions concerning the bifurcation of the Palakkad Division.

The Southern Railway has reassured the public that there are no plans to bifurcate the Palakkad Division, seeking to allay concerns caused by the misinformation.
