Indian stock exchanges announced that they faced minimal disruptions from a global Microsoft systems outage, according to a joint statement released on Saturday. The markets functioned without significant impact.

On July 19, 2024, a severe outage affecting Microsoft systems caused disruptions worldwide, impacting sectors like flights, banking, and more. However, Indian exchanges and clearing corporations operated smoothly, with only 11 of over 1400 trading members reporting issues that were swiftly resolved.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issued an advisory on system crashes linked to a CrowdStrike agent update, and CrowdStrike has since reverted the update. Among the most affected in India were flight operations, with numerous cancellations and rescheduling inconveniencing millions of passengers.
