The Railway Board has directed all zones to adopt a real-time monitoring system developed by the North Eastern Railway for efficient reporting and tracking of untoward incidents. This move aims to eliminate fraudulent claims cases.

Rail divisions will utilize online Google Sheets to collect incident data, which will be monitored at the headquarters level, according to the new mechanism.

A memo from the North Central Railway (NCR) emphasized the need for railways to implement this system. This decision followed discoveries of delays in completing formalities for Man Run Over (MRO) cases and other incidents, leading to fraudulent claims at the Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT).

Station masters will now be required to gather detailed information from loco pilots and train managers immediately after an incident. This data will include a unique identification number, incident details, and personnel information, all entered into a prescribed form and Untoward Incidents Register.

Nodal officers, including the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) and Deputy Chief Commercial Manager (Dy CCM)/claims, are appointed to ensure the accurate feeding and uploading of documents into Google Sheets.
