The Haryana government has announced the 'IT Saksham Yuva Scheme 2024,' aimed at empowering youth and enhancing employment opportunities. The initiative targets 5,000 jobs in its initial phase and aspires to create 60,000 jobs for underprivileged youth over time, as unveiled in the 2024-25 budget speech by former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Eligible graduates and post-graduates from IT backgrounds will undergo a specialized three-month training program under the Haryana IT Programme. Post-training, they will be placed in various state departments, corporations, and private entities. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000 for the first six months, which will increase to Rs 25,000 from the seventh month onwards.

In situations where trained candidates are not placed, the government will provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 10,000 per month. The state will facilitate employment opportunities in collaboration with agencies like HARTRON, HKCL, and SVSU. SVSU will be responsible for issuing completion certificates, marking a significant move toward economic growth and workforce readiness for the digital age.
