The two-wheeler sales in India for June 2024 registered a year-on-year growth of 21.3%, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Friday. The data reveals that total sales of two-wheelers hit 16,14,154 units, up from 13,30,826 units sold in June 2023.

Scooter sales surged by a remarkable 42% year-on-year in June, reaching 5.4 lakh units, compared to 3.8 lakh units in June of the previous year. Motorcycle sales also experienced notable growth, increasing by 11% year-on-year to 10.3 lakh units from 9.1 lakh units in the same period last year.

Passenger vehicle sales posted a modest 3% year-on-year growth in June, totaling 3,37,757 units compared to 3,27,788 units in June 2023. Three-wheeler sales also showed considerable improvement, with a year-on-year increase of 12.3%, totaling 59,544 units sold in June 2024 versus 53,025 in June 2023. Earlier data had shown declines in the May sales figures, signaling a potential turnaround for the industry.
