Bihar is gearing up to introduce groundbreaking policies within the next two months aimed at attracting capital across various sectors. This strategic initiative is designed to establish Bihar as the economic growth engine of East India, according to State Industries and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra.

At the Bihar Business Connect 2024 roadshow in Kolkata, Mishra elaborated on the state's commitment to fostering industry and employment, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for East India. The event saw participation from over 50 companies, represented by nearly 90 officials and industrialists.

Encouraging businesses to explore Bihar's untapped potential, Mishra stated, "We will come out with new sectoral policies, possibly the first in India, to attract capital to the state." He also applauded the Centre's proactive measures to rejuvenate Bihar, expressing optimism for the state's first Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The government also aims to develop religious tourism circuits around Bihar's rich cultural landmarks, such as Bodh Gaya and Sitamarhi, positioning itself as a hub for spiritual, cultural, and ecotourism through sustainable and inclusive practices. State Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh highlighted the state's attractive incentive schemes for investors.

In December, the state will host additional roadshows to promote its 2024 investment summit, promising a red-carpet welcome for investors. Mishra remains confident about attracting industries to Bihar's vast potential.
