Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday inaugurated the Bulk Drug Park constructed at Panjuvana in Haroli Assembly constituency of Una district.
During a public address, Sukhu highlighted the project's revolutionary potential for the region, noting its promise to provide extensive employment opportunities.
The state government will offer land at a nominal fee of one rupee, electricity at three rupees per unit, and free water for ten years to industries in the park. Additionally, financial support is pledged for a new railway line project costing Rs 3,400 crore.
Sukhu criticized the previous BJP government's financial management, which he claimed left the state in debt. He assured that his administration is focused on economic strengthening and self-reliance.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed gratitude for the Rs 1,000 crore allocation for the park's construction, promising development without private sector involvement.
This initiative is expected to benefit residents by resolving issues in healthcare, education, and water access. A Rs 40 crore provision aims to resolve regional power shortages.
Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan emphasized the park's role in reducing dependency on Chinese pharmaceutical imports by manufacturing key raw materials locally.
