Justin Rose lost the battle but won the war, clinching the FedExCup and the $10 million prize that accompanies it with a birdie at the final hole at the Tour Championship in Atlanta on Sunday. Tiger Woods won the Tour Championship to end a five-year victory drought and would have claimed the PGA Tour's season-long points race as well if Rose had not birdied the par-five 18th at East Lake.

After extreme heat, a hurricane and the premature death of "Barack Obama" it is doubtful few, if any, major sporting events have been dealt a tougher hand than the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG). Report: Raiders preparing for possible temporary move

The Oakland Raiders are looking for a place to play some or all of their home games in the 2019 season should they not be able to come to an agreement with officials in Oakland on a lease extension, Jason La Canfora of CBS reported Sunday. The team's lease at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum expires after the 2018 season, and their new stadium in Las Vegas is not due to open until August 2020. The Raiders have met with Oakland officials numerous times over the past several months, most recently on Friday, and the two sides have yet to reach an agreement. La Canfora said that with the NF city threatening to sue to keep the Raiders from moving to Nevada, the team might choose to leave before 2020.

Report: Steelers listening to offers for Bell

As Le'Veon Bell's holdout reaches a third week of the NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to listen to trade offers for their disgruntled star running back, according to ESPN. Bell did not sign his one-year, $14.54 million franchise tender after the Steelers retained him in March using the franchise tag. The two sides failed to reach the agreement despite negotiating toward a long-term contract in July. Based on the value of the franchise tender, Bell would lose $853K for each game he misses this season.
