The Maharashtra government will give top priority to provide drinking water to the people of Devla and Satana tehsils in Nashik district which received inadequate rainfall this year, a minister said Monday.
Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan said the water scarcity situation in Devla and Satana tehsils is serious.
Mahajan, who is also the guardian minister of Nashik district, reviewed the water scarcity situation in both the tehsils at a meeting here.
The two tehsils will get top priority in supply of drinking water, he said.
Mahajan also toured villages facing water shortage like Chehali, Meshi, Kumbharde, Haripada, Ajmer Soundane and Devlane and assured their residents of full support from the government in providing drinking water and fodder for cattle heads.
