UNESCO participates in meeting dedicated to education framework of G20
The Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, was in Mendoza, Argentina 5 September 2018 to take part in the first ministerial meeting dedicated to education within the framework of the G20.

The Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, was in Mendoza, Argentina 5 September 2018 to take part in the first ministerial meeting dedicated to education within the framework of the G20.
She opened the session on the contribution of international organizations to the G20 Education agenda and presented her vision of education to respond to the challenges of tomorrow's world of work. Ms. Azoulay presented the plan of UNESCO, the leading United Nations agency on Education, for access to quality education throughout life, in accordance with the United Nations Goal on Sustainable Development 4 (SDG4).
On 5 September 2018, the Director-General also met with the President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, for a bilateral meeting. This meeting was an opportunity for the Director-General to, "welcome Argentina's commitment in UNESCO's fields of competence, in particular through its chairmanship of the first ministerial meeting on education in the context of the G20.
It is urgent to put education at the top of the global governance agenda, as it is the only way to address this global challenge. Education is the challenge of the Century and the central lever for the success of all the objectives of the United Nations Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development."
