The private school set up in Pakistan has shown a considerable growth over the recent years. On a study conducted by World Bank on Pakistan showed that the number of private schools increased from 32000 to 60000 in 2016 with the fastest growing areas to be mostly rural. In 2010-11, it showed that 6 out of 10 children got enrolled in the private schools.

People are mostly choosing Private schools over Government schools because of the fact that they pose a higher rate of success of learning than the Government ones. People feel that their children will have a better access to quality education than in govt schools.

The point that private school students show better results than the govt ones also supports this particular fact. It is seen that students enrolled in private schools show 1 standard deviation high than the govt ones. Though this particular fact does not imply much when a student is in class but this becomes the deciding factor when a student wants to pursue higher education.

Another reason that has helped the private schools to take a leap from the govt ones is that they manage to keep their fees reasonable. In the study conducted by the World Bank, the fees of the private schools were around 200 to 300 rupees which were almost half of a person’s daily income.

This has been possible because of the low amount of salary given to teachers. In addition, if there is any girls school nearby to the private school it helps in continuous supply of teachers at a negotiable rate then the government schools.

However, this success does not mean that the private schools are very rich and are not in need of money. The owners said that they are in need of money but are not willing to borrow it. It is because of the fact that they do not want to improve the teaching-learning process but are more interested in developing the infrastructure of the schools, which helps them to attract students.

Thus the Pakistan landscape presents a very competitive market but this does not imply the fact that they are not in need of money whether it be in developing infrastructure or improving the teaching-learning conditions of the school. Thus a financial assistance would be very beneficial in improving the overall scenario of the education.
