Google Doodle celebrates Tyrus Wong’s 108th Birthday: Creator of 'Bambi'
Mr Wong heard that "Bambi" is in the preparation stage and produced several sketches of deer nestling in the forest.
Mr Wong emigrated to the United States with his father after being born in Guangdong province of China in 1910. He began working at Disney in 1938. Today Google Doodle is celebrating his 108th birth anniversary.
Mr Wong heard that "Bambi" is in the preparation stage and produced several sketches of deer nestling in the forest. Walt Disney saw his paintings and felt that this style of freehand is very suitable for depicting the forest in the animation.
It was said that this sketch remained in the eyes of the founder of Walt Disney and was adopted as the original picture of animation. According to Disney's website, Mr Wong's work has influenced film production and animators until today.
After leaving Disney in 1941, Mr Wong moved to Warner Brothers, worked for 26 years as an artist who created the concept of the movie and a story and retired in 1968.
In 2001, Huang Qiyao was awarded the Disney "Legendary Award" for his contribution to "Bee Deer".
