Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters will miss two to four weeks with a strained right calf, according to an NFL Network report Monday.

Per the report, initial tests showed no structural damage in the area, and Peters will have an MRI exam to confirm.

Peters went down in the first half against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and could not put any weight on his right leg as he was carried to the sideline. He was then helped to a cart and taken to the locker room.

Fellow corner Aqib Talib also left Sunday's game early, after limping off with an ankle injury. Pro Football Talk reported Sunday that Talib has an ankle sprain and would have a second opinion and an MRI on Monday.

The Rams acquired both players via trade this offseason, sending a second-round pick in a package to the Kansas City Chiefs for Peters and a fifth-rounder to the Denver Broncos for Talib. Peters is a two-time Pro Bowl selection who tallied 19 interceptions in his first three seasons in the league, while Talib has 34 interceptions (10 returned for touchdowns) three games into his 11th season.

Head coach Sean McVay did not have an update on either player after Sunday's game, though he did say returner/receiver JoJo Natson broke his hand and is out indefinitely.

The team was already without Pro Bowl returner Pharoh Cooper, who went on injured reserve with an ankle injury after Week 1.
