As the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi nears, India is also moving forward with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Many states of the country have been declared ODF by the government. The government's scheme launched with the perspective of enlightening the masses about keeping the area clean seems to be failing at a few places.

In Sector 7, Sonipat, factories are disposing of wastewater which affects the environment. Two trucks load containing plastic waste were recently dumped in the residential area of Sector 7. The area looks like a dumping yard full of hazardous waste causing serious health and environmental issues. Adding to the misery, the waste was put on fire which caused smoke, leading to breathing problem. The fumes from the waste diffused in the air and into the houses of the residents.

To curb the same, a resident of the area had to call the fire brigade to extinguish the fire. Not only that the residential compound looks like a party hub with alcoholics and drunkards, making it difficult for the citizens to live peacefully. As reported by the residents of the area.

Swachhata Action Plan (SAP) is a part of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi's vision that Swachhata has to be everyone's business in order for the nation to realize its collective vision of a Clean India.

The vision of Clean India seems to be going haywire in and around the area of Sector-7, Sonipat.
