World Heritage Committee to commence 42nd session in Bahrain tomorrow
World Heritage Committee will start off its 42nd session tomorrow, which will be continued till 4th July, it is a Category 2-Intergovernmental meeting and is being held in Manama, Bahrain.

World Heritage Committee will start off its 42nd session tomorrow, which will be continued till 4th July, it is a Category 2-Intergovernmental meeting and is being held in Manama, Bahrain.
The World Heritage Committee is comprised of representatives from 21 States Parties to the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage elected by the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention.
The current composition of the Committee is as follows: Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, China, Cuba, Guatemala, Hungary, Indonesia, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Spain, Tunisia, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zimbabwe.
World Heritage Committee identify, on the basis of nominations submitted by States Parties, cultural and natural properties of Outstanding Universal Value which are to be protected under the Convention and to inscribe those properties on the World Heritage List.
Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is the main organizer of the session with the support of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental agencies.
During the World Heritage Committee session, the Committee reviews the state of conservation of World Heritage sites, inscribes new sites on the World Heritage List, and attends to other matters involved in the implementation of the World Heritage Convention.
