Confidential mode of Gmail now available on mobile devices, protects sensitive information
With this added feature, Gmail users can now set an expiration date for messages or revoke access at any time.
Gmail has rolled out confidential mode for mobile devices that help protect sensitive information from unauthorized access. The feature which was previously available for desktop has now been extended to Android and iOS applications.
With this added feature, Gmail users can now set an expiration date for messages or revoke access at any time. Also, copy, paste, download, print, and forward the message text and attachments will be disabled for the recipients.
However, it doesn't prevent recipients from taking screenshots or photos of your messages or attachments. Recipients who have malicious programs on their computer may still be able to copy or download your messages or attachments, Google noted.
