The Ministry of Health of Ethiopia (MoH) is organizing a measles vaccination with the displaced communities and their hosts in the West Guji Zone of Ethiopia.

The campaign is targeting 516,000 children between the age group of 6 months and 15 years old.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UN Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is helping the ministry in their proceedings.

There was a major measles outbreak in different parts of Africa with a large number of registered cases in the month of June from countries like Sierra Leone in West Africa.

Countries in the African continent are ensuring that their children be protected from yet another measles outbreak, which hampers a child’s health, especially in poor living conditions by arranging vaccination campaigns with the help of WHO, MSF, UK Aid, UNICEF.

Displaced communities are given special preference in the vaccination campaigns as they reside in the worst living conditions and have no means to avail of any healthcare facility.
