Google Meet has added a new feature that lets you smoothly transfer your meeting between devices such as a computer, Android or iOS mobile and tablet without hanging up and rejoining.

With the latest update, you will see the new "Switch here" option when joining a meeting on your laptop. The feature ensures that you won't miss any important information when you switch from your mobile device to your laptop. For instance, if you are on a Meet call using your mobile phone or tablet, you can effortlessly switch to your laptop when you get to your desk.

To transfer a meeting on another device:

  • On your other device, go to Google Meet.
  • Select the meeting you're currently in.
  • Select Switch here.

To keep the meeting on both of your devices:

  • On your other device, go to Google Meet.
  • Select the meeting you're currently in.
  • Under “Other joining options, select Join here too.

The gradual rollout of this feature is already underway for Rapid Release domains and may take up to 15 days to be fully visible. For Scheduled Release domains, the full rollout of this feature will commence on May 9, 2024

The ability to transfer a meeting between devices will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts.
