Two boys drowned in a pond in Akola district of Maharashtra apparently while taking a swim, police said Sunday. The bodies of Rohit Wankhede (12) and his cousin Dev Wankhede (11) were spotted by a farmer in Gadegaon village on Saturday, who in turn informed police, an official said.
The bodies were fished out Sunday. Police are investigating the exact circumstances under which the incident occurred, the official said. As per preliminary information, Rohit and Dev had gone to the pond Saturday evening, but never returned, he added.
