Farmers had sown 2.8 million hectares of corn, 779,900 hectares of spring barley, 244,900 hectares of spring wheat. They had also sown about 4 million hectares of sunflower and 1.2 million hectares of soybeans. The ministry has said the overall grain sowing area could decrease by 395,000 hectares in 2024 to 10.6 million hectares.
