BJP candidate from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat Ravi Shankar Prasad has once again brushed aside repeated allegations of opposition that tampering will be done with Constitution if BJP returns to power, said no tampering with the Constitution will be done and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear several times. "PM Modi has made it clear that there will be no tampering with the Constitution. Modi's government has given constitutional responsibility to the OBC Commission. The economically weaker section has been made stronger. Those people who imposed emergency, those who sent Nitish, Lalu to jail, talk nonsense," said Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday while speaking to ANI.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad also criticised Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's "Ram Vs Shiva" statement. "Those who are not able to attend the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple need to know that Lord Ram has prayed to Lord Shiv ahead of his victory in Lanka."

Campaigning for Congress candidate from Janjgir-Champa Lok Sabha seat, Shivakumar Dahariya, Kharge compared 'Shiva' in his name to Lord Ram. "Ye Ram ka muqabla kar sakta hai kyunki ye Shiv hain (He can give tough fight to Lord Ram because he is Shiv)." Earlier RJD leader and former Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav had taken on the Prime Minister over his comments saying that the Congress alliance would take away SC/ST reservations and give it to the poor. Yadav claimed that the Prime Minister has lack of knowledge and is opposing the beliefs of Bihar's former CM Karpoori Thakur, who was recently awarded Bharat Ratna.

Speaking with the reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said, "The Prime Minister has a lack of knowledge. Recently, he gave Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur, but he is opposing his beliefs. When Karpoori Thakur became the Chief Minister for the first time, all the socially backward castes, irrespective of their religion, got reservation for the first time. Is it right to call Karpoori Thakur's decision wrong?." On Monday, coming down hard over the Congress on "religion-based" reservation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had hit out at the Congress saying that the Congress intended to take away reservations for SCs, STs and give it to Muslims for political gain.

The 40 seats in Bihar are undergoing polls in all seven phases. In 2019, BJP-led NDA swept the state by winning 39 out of 40 seats, while Congress won just one seat. RJD, a formidable force in the state failed to open its account. (ANI)
